:(

A solid liberal Democrat to the end.. RIP Sir. I spent many of summer afternoons watching Matlock reruns with my Grandfather.

Dang, R.I.P Sir.
Looks like all our youth hero's seem to pass away in a too hasty way..

No doubt I was gay from an early age, his cheap suits used to drive me crazy!

Dang. Definitely someone I grew up with.
Aside from Mayberry and other shows, I'll always remember his spot on the Ritz Cracker commercial.

That was a good flick. I always laugh at the latrine inspection scene when he stomps on a lever and all the toliet lids pop up to attention.

The PLO. There is a job opining for a PLO, but it is temporary, not in the restroom, and disorderly.

And every time he comes out, he looks a little "flushed".

Ditto. They don't make them like that any more. I was watching Operation Petticoat the other day. I've got Mr Roberts on deck for tomorrow. Good times.

IMHO, this was Griffith's best movie (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Face_in_the_Crowd_%28film%29) role:

I remember being shocked the first time I saw it. It wasn't the content that shocked me, it was seeing Sheriff Andy playing a bad guy!
