My ham tried to put an antenna in the tree and it doesn't work much to his dismay. Now he has a ladder on my deck with a piece of PVC tubing and a Pilates1/2 ball holding up the bottom of the PVC tube, yes I said Pilates ball. I asked him if he wanted to get a longer pole and he said I was thinking of mounting an antenna on your garage. With all this talk about poles, balls and mounting whats a hamsmtnchic to do?

:chin:

My 2m J-Pole is on a 20' mast, the bottom of which is held by a lawn umbrella stand...

You must complete the tree swing mating ritual so that the favor of the gods may shine down on your endeavors.

Ingenuity is the hallmark of the ham; necessity is the mother of invention. Just wait until he starts on about conjugate matches...

They hold up GHZ antennas.

The banana guy in the desert made a 6m antenna from a deck umbrella. Craig Lemke? Wasn't he a member? N0EQ?

Or in the case of modern pharmaceuticals, invention is the mother of necessity.
