Umm, I'm wondering how you ride that bike with that tiny skirt on. I've been out of motorcycles for quite a few years, but I'm pretty sure ya can't ride 'em side saddle:nosey:

Mike, that there is what we call a crotch rocket.
They call them that for a very good reason.
Kelli is very cool and bold. If you have to ask, you don't need to know.;)

Jeans at the least for me. I normally wear "armored" pants and jacket.

I hate jeans because I find them extremely uncomfortable. I almost always wear leggings and yeah I know, if I go down I'm gonna be sorry. I do have a heavy leather jacket I wear most of the time and armored gloves though.

Lol, I wear jeans and thermal shirts 99% of the time. Even now in Spain when every one else is in shorts and flip flops.

And, naw, I wasnt gonna lecture. I have been down though. Rear-ended by a car on my Dual-Sport at 16. Even jeans didnt help too much.

Well, that's kinda my thinking. If you go down, unless it's at less than 20 mph, even jeans aren't going to help much.

For me it is a mental thing. I feel safer.

Oh, I hear you. Kinda like early winter riding to work and I slid on some black ice. For months afterward whenever I was riding I felt sure my bike was going to try and slide out from under me on a turn. Took until a couple of weeks ago to shake that feeling. And yeah, I did stop riding from December 7th until it warmed up again about a two months ago.

That isn't going to buff out. Not one bit. And I still have some power supply components here, awaiting the go-ahead to ship.

Going home one evening on one of these:

5798

I had it leaned over in a curve to the point where those nice bag protector rails were just about scraping the asphalt, then got the rear wheel into some gravel/loss of traction scenario.

What did they teach at the MSF school regarding this? (3 things)

My instinctive reaction is to go upright and steer gently in the new direction of travel. Like counter steer but a bit more. Stop the rotation of the whole bike and gain traction on the skidding real wheel ASAP. It usually takes very little input. Dont let that back tire come around and fooking hookup as the bike slows down. I only highsided once, in the dirt. Superman'd for about two seconds, then the landing from about 8 feet in the air hurt.

Then I practiced a lot till it never happened again. I pushed the Connie a few times till it got weird.
Easy to do with a bit of heavy throttle in a tight corner. Dayum, I miss riding. Sigh.

I've been learning to drift the Miata a bit. 53/47 weight distribution is freaking amusing.
Spun out hard a couple of times, on purpose. Wet parking lot fun.

My reactions are instinctive for the most part as well. I do almost everything by instinct and just doing it, rather than relying on book-knowledge, which is why I'm a terrible teacher.
