Sure seems like it. These are all the great folks (some, not so great) from my Dad's generation.

Too bad, the guy was an amazing talent. But at 89, he didn't get cheated.

A "hands on engineer" who kept doing cool things, even when he "retired". :sadwave:

My grandmother will be 98 about a week or so before the supposed end of the world in December.

Got an old HS buddy (RWN, but that's beside the point) who spent a lot of years racing Shelbys and owned a few. Surprised I haven't heard from him. He's probably got a long night ahead.

Note from my old buddy after passing along condolences:

Thanks Rob,

I just learned about it through all these e-mails. Probably the single most responsible person for my joy and happiness in my life. My 13 years driving for him of my 26 years of racing were the best.

Just last month I was going through a box of old check stubs from many years ago. I'm probably the only person alive that has check stubs signed by both Carroll Shelby and Tom Landry.

A real Shelby fan...

I bet Carroll is up there discussing the über supercar with Enzo Ferrari, Ferdinand Porsche, Ettore Bugatti and Ferrucio Lamborghini to name a few, as well as enjoying some of Albi's single malt.

I'm wondering who's single malt Albi is enjoying.

Best known for his work with Ford, specifically with Lee Iaccoca at both Ford and Dodge The CS trademark was found on several mid 80s Dodge models and he had his hand in many different brands.

He was not an engineer as I understand it. But he was good at what he did. He was also one of the longest surviving heart transplant patients.

I meant that in the "self taught" sense.
