Too many blows to the head, and I don't mean that in a smart-ass way.

My grandfather was a former semi-pro boxer who ended up dying from Parkinsonism that his doctor felt was caused by repeated brain trauma when he was young. It caused his personality to change over the years I knew him too, from a kind and gentle old man to a crotchety, vicious fucker who's family avoided him.

Tragic. And we're going to see more and more of this. I love football, I watch it religiously. I play in fantasy leagues, I spend a lot of money going to the games & buying the merchandise. But despite being a big fan, I recognize the violent nature of the game is harming people. We need to either fix it (which I'm not sure how that's accomplished) or we do away with the game as we know it.

Not sure how we solve this particular problem, but at the very least, the NFL needs to provide more support for ex-players and their families. Some people have suggested that helmets are actually the problem -- it gives a false sense of security/safety. :dunno: Worth exploring..

Honestly with todays tech I am sure the helmets could be improved a lot

They have been, millions of dollars (at least) has gone into the research. They make helmets so good that they think they can bash in each other's skulls without consequence.
