Roger is just like that other asshole who ruined Styx.

Bound to be a pretty good show.
no offense intended.

I still remember when Styx came to town during the Mr. Roboto tour. Couldn't go; Little Miss Field Day was due to be born 2 days after the concert (shows what the doctor knows, she didn't come along until over 2 weeks later -- thus her nickname)

I'll get to see them this year. And I don't have to buy tickets!

(They're appearing at PNC Park after a Saturday ball game, as part of a Skyblast performance + fireworks show. Yeah, I know, how the mighty have fallen... but they were fantastic doing this 2 years ago)

I saw Pink Floyd Perform The Wall live at the Hollywood Bowl in 1970 or 71, it was way cool, they had pink fog on the stage.

So, which one is Pink?

That would be Dennis DeYoung, Ron.
Those two share the same form of megalomania.
They were both part of an awesome community effort by a band, but their ego's allowed them to sue for band names, and other silly ass shit.
All Roger walked away with was "The Wall".

It WILL be a good show. I just really hate people like that. Probably my fault more than theirs...who knows.

$105 a ticket in the nosebleed section?

I think I may have a DTS version around here I can crank up in their honor. :(

I think I may have a DTS version around here I can crank up in their honor. :(I paid close to $500 for a set. I saw the same show 2 years ago; all I can say is.. it's worth it. It's not just an average concert. They bill it as a 'rock opera'.

I noticed some tickets are over 5 bills apiece. Outta my league.

Enjoy it and give us a review! ;)

Does that mean WW4D is going to MC?
Hope not.... we'll never get to the show.

That would be Dennis DeYoung, Ron.
< snip >I was thinking you meant Tommy Shaw, but I've heard that too.

Considering that DeYoung, along with the brothers Panozzo, founded what became Styx... he might (might) have had a case. Unfortunate, of course, that it came to that in the first place, but that's another story.

(And Shaw is back with the band, which means it's unlikely that DeYoung will return. They don't exactly see eye-to-eye these days)

Too late to get decent tickets. Same show I missed two years ago. Oh well. I gotta get busy and figure out who else is coming here. Especially something at Red Rocks.

Styx, REO, and "Skid Marks" Ted Nugent are playing May 8th.

Time is flying way too fast for this rat bastid. That's what I meant by it happening 2 weeks ago.. not the 60 Minutes interview, sorry for the confusion.

It was an epic show, to say the least. For an old man, he still has a lot of energy. I would say the show I saw 2 years ago was slightly more technically advanced, but I saw that show in Orlando, not Denver -- so maybe there were stage restrictions. The NBA playoffs were going on too, so that could have impacted their setup a bit. :dunno:

Bet it was worth the moolah. After the fact (ahem) I'm sorry I didn't buy tickets. Did listen to the whole album at work today though, and as soon as I get these damn kids off my lawn, I'll fire the movie up on the little big screen.

Not sure Denver even has a venue that can do a 140-meter wide screen.

Good stuff, and Waters is doing really well at 68. Maybe some of these real "rock stars" of the 70's were more into the music and performance than the drugs?

Bet it was worth the moolah. Not even a moment of regret.. absolutely worth it -- even for the 2nd time. :) I spend far more on other 'hobbies' every month, so really a drop in the bucket in the grand scheme of things. It was a very nice evening that I'll remember forever.

< snip >{/quote]Funny thing.

Heard an ad on the radio this morning; Dennis DeYoung "the voice of Styx" will be performing in a few weeks... at one of the local casinos.

Nah. I think I'll wait for the August SkyBlast and hear the rest of the band.
