Danger, Will Robinson!
I run a MicroHam Microkeyer, and their software uses FTDI for the USB interface. It seems that the latest drivers from FTDI do all kinds of funky chit with W7 and its power saving modes. MicroHam has had to go back through their software to peel away all the "new and improved" that FTDI put in their latest release. Microham has a beta version of the software out now on their U.S. download site.
