Thus far I worked out for an hour at the gym. After the usual round of meetings and other office stuff throughout the day it's back on the Ohio-Erie Towpath for some bicycling fun.

We did 16mi last evening in just over an hour and a half; this including several stops to address 'DSG's balky bike computer.

I'll try to get a few pics on tonight's ride.

Took some stuff and cleanred the stones at the back of the house, lots of green stuff on it, as was on the shed, and rest of the stuff.
Needs a few days to work in, then the green stuff should be dead, and the stuff can be painted in a month or 2 again.
Need to clean up the shed too, but this week is warm and sunny, i'll keep that job for aa rainy day ;)

Finished building this today. A 9'x3' screen frame built from 2x4's and door stop molding. The weight of the door keeps it in place. Toots gets plenty of air and has a great view of what's happing in the hood.

I was visiting my Mom at the hospital for the last 3 days. Thank God she is home now. She suffered some kind of a seizure, I had to call 911 to get paramedics to the house at 4:30 Am on Monday. I found her semi conscious and gagging. Apparently the doctors feel it might have been caused by a stomach virus or food poisoning. But when they ran tests on her they also found her blood sugar very high so they feel it was complicated by a diabetic condition she was unaware of. So they kept her in the hosp. for 3 days, ran tests and now she is home but she's going to have to take diabetic meds and change her diet to a low blood sugar diet and monitor her sugar levels.

See above. I added to my post. It was a very traumatic so I wasn't able to think much about radio or anything over the last few days. Yeah, now, if things stay back to normal for a few days I will get back to stringing up the wire antenna, My workload is also backed up now. But, when it comes to the health and well being of my family no expense can be spared.

It is.

Pardon me, boy
Is that the Chattanooga poo poo?
Track twenty-nine
Boy, you can gimme a shine
I can afford
To board a Chattanooga poo poo
I've got my fare
And just a trifle to spare...

There's gonna be
A certain party at the station
Satin and lace
I used to call "funny face"
She's gonna cry
Until I tell her that I'll never roam
So Chattanooga poo poo
Won't you poo poo me home?

I had to go to #38 slow in my Valkyrie Interstates - those #35s like to clog far too easily. Unbelievable power difference; can now spin the rear tire in 1st through 3rd under hard acceleration.

Yeah, too much in mine will make the acceleration ramp too slow. It should "snap."

I'll see how HF mobile will work from the top of the Cumberland Plateau, the Florida QSO Party is coming up soon. Nothing too exciting today. I went to the Home Depot, in Tlaquepaque, to pick up some items for the "honey-do" list where I noticed an American woman unsuccessfully trying to communicate with a store employee using a Spanish/English dictionary. So, I played translator for a bit. Then, I drove my little 13 year-old niece home from school. Her grandmother usually does the driving honors, but grandma has been visiting in the U.S. for the past month. Next, I helped out with a few things at my son's restaurant, which is located next to the Jose Cuervo tequila factory. I fixed some things around the house and then put up a 40 through 10 meter doublet antenna.

Got a BAOFENG UV-5R radio on Thursday. I forgot to order the programming cable and software so I had to get them off of Ebay. It's a pretty cool little radio but without the cable i don't think it is possible to program it from the keyboard. If anyone knows how to do this let me know.

Oh, it also has a function annunciator in it but it's in Chinese:squint:. Fun for a few minutes but it gets annoying:-D, luckily it can be turned off.

Worked some of the WPX while the wife & daughter were at church.

Went to Bob Evans for my wife's birthday party... brunch. (My mother-in-law's idea, she didn't feel like cooking the traditional dinner she usually does for her kids)

Walked the dog.

Added some bricks to the parking pad adjacent to the driveway.

Worked some more of the WPX.

Tried not to tell AC4BB what a jackass he is over on the Zed.

Uploaded my meager WPX log to Logbook of the World. Already have 3 matches.

Found out the Pirates actually won a Spring Training game today; lately, the minor leaguers have been blowing the games in the 8th or 9th inning, which is why they won't make the team. Wife & daughter are happy.

Tried not to tell AC4BB what a jackass he is over on the Zed.

Watched some pointless TV dramas with the wife. Guessed what was going to happen. Kept my mouth shut so as to avoid spoiling her good mood.

Tried not to tell AC4BB what a jackass he is over on the Zed.

Nice little touch tonight on the ABC show Once Upon a Time. They incorporated some of Alice in Wonderland into tonight's show, their take on the Mad Hatter. Now: at one point, the Hatter is entering Wonderland, and they are greeted by a blue centipede. The centipede looks at the Hatter & his companion, and asks "Who? Who are you?" several times.

The voice of the centipede: Roger Daltrey.

In a different thread, he's really giving Rich NN3W a hard time... Rich (foolishly, as it turns out) challenged the schmendrik to show up at one of the suites at Hamvention and see how well he could copy under duress. The schmendrik is now demanding that Rich pay his way... and wants at least $500. Which proves he's not only a schmendrik and a putz, but a goniff as well.
