Found this on the "How-to Geek", researched for adware/spyware potentials (none found), so I downloaded, scanned, and gave it a try.

It works.

you can have your ribbon AND the old fashioned drop down menu.

Did I mention that it is free for private use?

Q: I recently suffered a computer crash. I had to reinstall everything. One thing I can't find is the classic-menu fix for Microsoft Office 2007. I hate the ribbon. Can you help me?

A: For Office 2007, Microsoft dumped the menu bar for the "ribbon." Some people like it, some people don't. Microsoft didn't include an option for the classic interface. So, other people did it for them. UBitMenu is an excellent example. This program adds a new tab to the ribbon. It contains the classic Office interface. But the ribbon can be handy. Learning to use it can be fun with Ribbon Hero.

You can have both your drop down menus and ribbon bar - what a novel idea
