Old seeds have been resurrected here as well 10K years old.
Specially very old grainseeds to see what the difference was genetically with the current species of grain.
So, yes, i think it can be done, specially from permafrost conserved seeds.
There are seedbanks of all kind of plants and grains kept for future use in deep freeze now.
