I'm concerned about this. Was watching a History Channel show about the White House that was hosted by George and Laura Bush. I was actually thinking, "What nice people the seem."

Yikes!!!! WTF is happening to me?

I'm sure personally, they are. It's part of the persona that a professional politician needs to exude or excrete.

Or to put it another way, you can like the individual as a person without having to like that person's policies or ambitions.

Right. If I disliked everyone due to their political agenda then I wouldn't have any friends.

That's true.

David Duke was supposed to be a real charmer back in the day. I remember reading that about him. Even a despicable person like that can be seen as a "nice guy" in superficial social gatherings.

I don't care how "nice" the Bushies seem. W is still responsible for the rape of this country and the deaths of thousands of people and Laura is a silver spoon drunk driver murderer.

(cue Paul with the Chappaquidick reference...)

Absolutely agree 100% with that! And usually my knee-jerk response whenever I see that hated face. That's why it worried me that I actually had such a thought. Thanks for adding that and keeping it real.

You can be a nice person; but yet be a dumb ass.

I'm positive George and Laura are nice people. I met them (Well, George, at least). George exudes a warmth and cordiality not found often these days. But, he was a dumb ass.

Maybe you can put that mush to good use?
Professor Kingsfield: You come in here with a skull full of mush and you leave thinking like a lawyer.
Well, maybe not.
