I won't be mounting a big effort, but I'll show up.

Anyone whining about this QSO party is an idiot. There are typically less than 20 DE stations operating in this "contest".

Just look at the past history (http://www.fsarc.org/qsoparty/oldresults.htm) and see for yourself.

To anyone who whines, go fuck yourself.

Cool. If you happen to pop in here, let us know where you are on the bands.

This is NOT turning out the way I hoped. This time 2 years ago, I was over 350 Qs. I'm barely over 120 and it's been a struggle to get there.

Where is everyone? :wtf:

Conference call via skype, in front of a fire, finishing up my last Cohiba, and admiring the lack of snow.

Well, I gave up about an hour ago. It's just not happening.

Ran into another DE station on 40m and he was having the same crappy luck, so I'm somewhat comforted that it's not just me. Between the band conditions and family commitments on Saturday, I got in a whole 4.5 hours this weekend.

Looks like this year's results are not worth submitting. 145 Qs and 40 multipliers. Add in the low power multiplier and it's a "whopping" score of 11,600. :(

Maybe next year....

Im not hearing much of anything on 20m not like yesterday. heard the typical "nets" did work a VT station and had a nice qso with a SD station in the AM. but for the most part i been running back and forth from 225-350 looking for you DE guys

would have loved to have worked ya.

with the way it seems maybe my little 92points will be worth something lol all done on a indoor 20m dipole

Contests are teh ebil.

All joking aside, actually they are good because they help increase band usage stats. I generally have no interest in contests but I don't whine about them.. If I don't want to contest I do one of the following...

1) Find a quiet and engage in a conversation with someone.
2) If a contesters contacts me give him a signal report and invite him to join the conversation. If he accepts fine, if not then so be it.
3) If the bands are overcrowded and there is no way to avoid the contest and I don;t want to join then simply shut the radio and come back when its over. Beats contesting the contest.

I don;t see why some people make such a fuss over it.
