View Full Version : New Years
Anyone planning on being QRV tomorrow?
Once I get my carcass out of bed (and we'll be out late, naturally), I plan to spend a little time on the air. Same thing on Monday, which I have off.
We've talked on & off about an on-air get together... so I'm game... band conditions and hangovers not withstanding...

If I were feeling better I'd be up for some PSK. My antenna isn't good enough for phone. But unfortunately my rig is buried under a bunch of junk I need to go through on my desk and I am dealing with the first cold I've had in years so probably not gonna happen. I just woke up from a two hour nap and plan on going back after finishing this soup. If I feel better later I'll let ya know cuz it sounds like fun.
I'm up for some PSK and some SKN.
Starting to feel a little congested, though - just got over one of these and am not looking forward to a repeat.

Maybe, if I can get the remote stuff to work... digital modes are do-able right now. VOIP is cranky.
Of course I can do Echolink/IRLP. I do have my HT and laptop with me.
I'm hanging out at the YL's place. Have not put up antennas here... yet. ;)

I'll try anything... digital, phone or whatever someone suggests.

20 looks to be really good into the Carolinas for me as of late. Depending on what time everyone rolls out of bed, let's try something mid-morning. If I can't sleep I'll be on 40 tonight with the hand pump.
I can be there tomorrow and/or Monday.

Although I have to go with my wife to her work for awhile, I'm taking the little 817 and buddypole with me. Din't have time to reconfigure for PSK but can try SSB. Times and freqs?
I'm awake, coffeed and ready. Currently listening to one of the waterholes, one of the cesspools and the QRO SSB/CW section of the station can work 80-10. Pick a channel and let's go.

I'm cruising 10, 12, and 17 right now. That and ignorning Star Wars IV on Spike (Obi-Wan feels that something terrible has happened to Planet Basketball, the martyr. Whoops, wrong movie) I can jump to 15 or 20 at any time.
It looks like a PSK Deathmatch on 20 at the moment. Will someone please break in and tell a few of these guys that more than a little ALC meter deflection while TXing is a Very Bad Thing?
For anyone who's interested, a bunch of our locals (including an IoMH member) have a ragchewing session going on 28.337 at the moment.

Any ALC meter deflection is a very bad thing. Sheesh, that should be common knowledge among anyone active enough on PSK31 to know about a Deathmatch. I keep my meter switched to the ALC position whenever I'm operating PSK31.
Currently calling CQ PSK31 on 14070.15 if anyone is interested in a QSO.
I'm listening, and around 14071.13 I see AC4BB.
