Finally, close to home

Looks for all the world like a SW antenna used to be on the roof?

5088

The Jefferson's Building (Mohooving on Up!)....the Park Lane Apartments. Where I garage my car -- and one of the attendants is a ham!

5089

5090

And, my apartment building.....the light colored building with the fire escape.
And that wonderful HF notch filter surrounding it! Pity....a random wire to one of those trees would get out fine.

Yes, thanks for sharing! I haven't been to NY in 35 years. I bet a return trip would be total culture shock!

Thanks Paul. Nice pix. BTW I'm assuming you used a snow filter on the camera since none was viable, eh?

Yea....it was amazing what Albi bundled with that camera when he sold it! Never got a chance to ask where he got that snow filter, tho'. Hope it lasts.

Paul, do you have any idea what those supports were for ? I believe at one time they did hold wires. I am trying to clear up a mystery of what they were for.

Reminds me of old time antennas people used to put up for their consoles with SW. Maybe 3 or for wires up there? I'll have to search the web for what I'm thinking of. Couldn't be a clothesline...much too high, so what else could it have been? It's kind of cool that it's been updated to be a support for a Dish!

This is kinda what I'm thinking about with those masts:

Described here. (http://www.hariggers.co.uk/odds.htm)

Scroll down about half way.

Wonder if that was ham who transmitted there?
