I wish all of you a warm, festive and peaceful holiday. Lately I've come to regard the Island and all its residents as a wonderul, warm, supportive, loving and very functional family. Not without it's kooky uncles and intra-family spats....but hey, that's what families are all about!

Of course, there's two holes in that family this year and one of them is going to take a long, long time to heal. Even that is part of what a functional family is all about.

Special mention for the people who keep this beast running so well. From where this OF sits, it sure looks like you're getting it as exactly right and any mortal could. IMHO, that's a reflection of the excellent caliber of the people keeping the beach all tidy and warm! Three cheers to you guys!

Happy Winter Holidays to all!!! I just got out of the kitchen making the Dec. 25th dinner...mom can't stay on her feet long enough to do it anymore....
Roast beef, sweet potatoes, cranberry orange relish, crescent rolls...she made her traditional ambrosia... YUMMMMMMMY!!!!!

And, yes, I had some for Albi, too!!!

One MAJOR hole, for sure. The other was an A-hole definitely. He was no member of my family, and a fucking jerk.

Holiday happiness, Holiday Love. This holiday, I miss my brother who died in April from pancreatic cancer. This holiday, I have my daughter, and granddaughter with me. My granddaughter loves me like a puppy would, totally unconditionally. When I look in her eyes, I see love. Love is what motivates me now.
