Easy! That radio is a genuine joy to work on. And the filter sounds excellent. Also did the required "re-seat all the boards thing."
Taking up north tomorrow. Gonna rock the bands with it!
You have room for several filters in that radio. Treat yourself!
OEM Drake filters came in the following bandwidths:
8, 6, 4, 2.3, 1.8, 1.0, 0.5 and 0.3 KHz.
Aftermarket filters are/were offered too:
6, 3.0, 2.8, 0.4, 0.25 KHz (Sherwood, Inrad)
Hot Tip:
Pull the stock 2.3 KHz SSB filter (the one through which all transmitted audio is routed) then install a Sherwood 2.8 or 3.0KHz filter in its place. Put the OEM filter in one of the accessory slots. Adjust the Carrier Board USB/LSB set points (if required) and the ESSB guys will wonder what the heck you're using. It sounds that good, but is not excessively wide.

Great tip! Will keep it in mind for the future.
The '7 came with the "no filter" resistor, and I LOVE that! Makes that a wonderful SWL radio. For that reason, it's become my mobile rig of choice. Love listening to SW BC in the car.
