In favor of "radio only" solutions:

I like it.
The real irony being that MARS seemed to be proper fit for such a dedicated, channel oriented mode.
It should be off the HF amateur bands entirely. Won't happen though, the fix is in.

Holy hell, as long as we still have Winlink % chuckles; that's all that matters. :stirpot:

Of course ......Chuck and his anti-Winlink paranoia obsession just begs thrills and chills in Amateur radio for years to come!
Like the saying goes...... "Thats entertainment!"

The government never liked anything where they couldn't access the source code.
Interesting that Army MARS has begun an immediate phase-out, but Navy MARS will continue to use WinLink for the forseeable future.
Could this be because Navy won the Army-Navy game this year?
...
And don't worry, Chuckles will still find something to vent over. If not WinLink, there's always the TexNet burr in his sadle. Or the "HInternet" whatever that really is. Or just the fact that few hams still use AX.25 packet on VHF these days, if he is to be believed.
