Just got the colonoscopy / endoscopy double play. Everything looks OK and Well worth the inconvenience. Preventive medicine at its finest.

The anticipation is the worst part. Too bad they can't keep you on the drugs a day or two before. Maybe a day after, too; just as a reward. ;)

Great news!
General info: those two tests are a piece of cake. Getting them is little more than taking a refreshing nap.

And, you get to see full color hi-res pix of your insides!

Dig that. I was kinda lucky -- my endoscopy was scheduled for the next morning. Very little time to work myself up with worry.

Your absolutely right. However, a little ride on the Marrakesh Express never hurt.

Right-o. Forgot that part. Not necessary for other one.
AND, as previously mentioned by someone, if you're getting both at the same time, make sure they don't get the two mixed-up!

Reminds me that the doctor's going to bug me about this again, the next time I see him. I am not looking forward to this, not at all.

Your absolutely right. However, a little ride on the Marrakesh Express never hurt. The stuff they used to give me flucked me up for the rest of the day. With the stuff they use now , a couple of hours after the procedure I'm back to normal.

Same thing the doc told my wife a few years ago. Wonder if they ever get tired of telling that joke.

don't have to do this until next year. but we're installing our new 3T magnet and i should finally be able to get brain pictures sometime next month (the bore on the 3T is larger than on the 4T and so my shoulders (and the rest of my fat ass) will fit!)

I had a funny guy doc tell me "oh, we wash them up real good between customers" when I told him that the endoscope looked a lot like the proctoscope.
On a different note, the radiation oncology techs knew I am a geek and arranged to have the maintenence engineer give me a nice guided tour of of the Varian Linac therapy machine. The primary RF source is a 1200 watt 2.3 gHz generator and it's damn stable too.

Boy, the possibilities of hacking that into something fun are endless.
Barkeep, you weren't here for Russ's first post so I'll ask you you pour him the drink of his choice and put it on my tab.

Head for the kitchen, OM, 1200W at 2.3 GHz is a microwave oven!
While you're snippin' and solderin', you can get yourself something nice from the cupboard and add some sippin' as well.
