Cat's 26 toes help boost Milwaukee animal shelter (http://news.yahoo.com/cats-26-toes-help-boost-milwaukee-animal-shelter-080754594.html)

In a reversal of fortunes, a once-unwanted cat has come to the rescue of an animal shelter in need of a new home.

I just don't understand at all why a cat like Daniel could ever be unwanted. Male tabbies, and, I understand, especially orange ones are some of the most lovable, loving, gentle endearing creatures anywhere. If I was looking for a cat, I'd adopt him on the spot.

Great story. Polydactylism is a new word for me. I'll be using it in conversation, often.

I was at the vets yesterday, and a lady came in with a beautiful female brindle mix dog. The thing was so scared and traumatized, I thought it was going to stroke out. She said her husband had heard it howling in an abandoned house, and he broke in to rescue the dog; they wanted the dog checked out by the vet before giving it a place in their home. The dog showed signs of beating and abuse. The only two things that piss me off as much as animal abuse is child abuse and wife beaters. I would love to have a few minutes with any of these abusers, and demonstrate some other uses for a Louisville Slugger.

I had a cat with extra toes on his front paws. For that every reason, I called him Digit. He lasted 17 years.

What a cutie! And yeah, ginger cats are some of the most loving. We have an adolescent male ginger named Pixel. +1000 if you know the reference there.

Have to pass up the points; don't know the reference. Goshes...some days I may as well not even get out of bed. ;)

But that cat picture is wonderful. Thanks!

I'm half-tempted to put some digits (in the form of toes) up the backside of our Tuxedo/Manx. Fed all three when I got home from work at 5; the black/white installment has since been on the counter once (after a can of chicken soup) and in the trash twice (after said can of soup plus the empty cat food can).

He gets the good stuff, due to dietary constraints. The others get dry food and I have to confine them during feedings else Fatso will steal everything off their plates. :wall:

I've never met a Manx that didn't do crazy shit like that.
