I ordered 4 electrolitic caps from AES in Az. They were sent out UPS on 11/23. UPS scheduled delivery date is 12/02. 10 friggin days to ship a little package from AZ to NJ? Damn!

how much did you pay for shipping? ordinary UPS shipping is three days source to destination; they have slower options for bulk shippers.

What values were the caps. I recently ordered a bunch of condensers and parts from Mouser and I got them in like 3 days. But brand new large value electrolytic s from companies like Mouser can get very expensive. Did they give you a tracking number ? Any way to find where the condensers are located ?

Unless these were huge oil filled condensers, $9.41 should have the parts to your door in less than 10 days. I would contact them and check on the status.

You picked the wrong time to ship. UPS didn't move a single Ground package on Thursday and Friday (add 2 days). They don't move Ground on the weekend (add 2 days). It usually takes 4-5 days for UPS Ground to get from AZ to NJ. You do the math.

Well that answers that question.

Next time ax them to use USPS Priority Mail. It works. It is faster than UPS. Much faster.

Yes, I ordered a bunch of "orange drops" (modern day RoHS versions) and i got them in 2-3 days via USPS. If its an option I always chose USPS.

Problem I find, is a lot of places won't do USPS. I don't know why, either. They will pu, the boxes are free, and 98% of the time (no pictures-just a guess) they are less expensive. And as mentioned above, 3 day on 1st class and priority.
I've been waiting over 6 weeks for an order of bicycle parts from an outfit in California...only problem is that they are waiting for a seat post from an English supplier to come in before they'll ship. Talk about your slow boats - I think that one's still rounding the Horn.

Ordered something from Newegg last Friday. Shipped UPS 3-day. Should be here this Thursday.
Looks like they flew it from Ca to Memphis and then put it on a truck to Denver.
Glad I ain't in logistics.

And as mentioned above, 3 day on 1st class and priority. When I worked at Westech back in the '80's, the store got a discount for shipping via UPS. It was pretty decent as I recall, at least 25%. So if you figure that the shipper charges you full price, he has to give all of that to USPS, but can keep a piece of it for UPS. Basically, pure profit.

:agree:
Gotten great service with that. Trouble is, a lot of shippers refuse to use anything but UPS.
