Makes sense that human mothers would eat their own placenta. Deer, that are completely non carnivorous eat their placentas.

Yuck
Okay, my chance to gross all of you out: I've eaten placenta. It tastes like calve's liver.

My mom always told us, "if you eat liver, you will die". It must be true, because she used to make it for my dad and he died; I never have and I'm still going. Go figure.

Liver is one of my favorite dishes so long as it's not too dried out.
In college, we called pizza either "Afterbirth on toast" or "Miscarraige on toast."
Do you ever get the feeling that someone's out to prove that PT Barnum was right, when you hear about stuff like this?

My ex taught childbirth classes before she became a nurse midwife. She always had a few in the freezer (to be thawed out for educational purposes) from the home births her midwife partner performed. You want to lose ANY appetite just look at one of those things with the 20" cord still attached.

Scrapple is made from every part of the pig but the squeal. I used to like scrapple.

It doesn't sound very appetizing to me. Sorry, I'll pass on the placenta stew. Somehow eating human body parts doesn't set too well with me.
