I used to appreciate his sardonic wit up until about 10 years ago.
RIP Andy.

I will miss the old fart. Would have been good on 75 had he been a ham.
RIP

No doubt he spoke to the wannabe curmudgeon in me.

I believe someone wrote a very believable, very racist article in Mr. Rooney's style, and he was never able to shed the tainted reputation he acquired. Such a shame, as Andy was not a racist.
I loved listening to him, but hated watching him on the tube. Those eyebrows made me want to grab a weed-whacker and apply a trim.

Sad indeed. If you believe in the Afterlife, he's having a beer and discussing the days news with Paul Harvey and Walter Cronkite.

No, it's more likely he's kvetching about those damned kids on his celestial lawn.

Andy was pretty bombastic about Curt Cobain's suicide, which upset me a little.
I remember "Point Counterpoint". Andy's commentary replaced that segment, and I preferred the debate.

Don't think I ever disagreed with him which made it pretty odd he lasted as long as he did. He did a piece called pennies from hell over 10 years ago that was spot on.

No, it wasn't the racist thing. He just seemed to lose a bit of himself. Something that made him endearing in a way. I don't know what happened in his life but he just wasn't the same.

His family has donated his eyebrows to the Museum of Natural History at the Smithsonian Institution.
You can see his culinary counterpart occasionally on Iron Chef as a judge...i believe they call him "Jeffrey".

Maybe when his wife died in 2004? I can't say that I paid enough attention then to notice.
I always liked Andy. Reminds me of my Dad.
