Tamsulosin hydrochloride is the generic. I took it while I was having stone issues and wore the catheter; like nearly every other man of my age, I have an enlarged prostate and the urologist suggested it as a matter of course. I took a few while wearing the tube.

I no longer take it, since I have no urinary troubles (don't have to get up during the night to pee and when I go, I go!). Even as a generic, it is somewhat pricey. No side effects that I noted.

I just pee my pants. No problem noted.

Er, not to make light of the situation.

If the medication works, you can write your name in the snow without delay.

No worries there, I don't think.

Never even crossed my mind.

It's making me feel off kilter. Think I'm gonna chicken out on taking more. Always hated med side effects. Might have to get the green light lazer mod if I get too bad.

In the past, I've found with some meds I had to ramp up the dose slowly to the one perscibed. That seemed to allow my body to adjust without side effects as you describe. It might be worth a try if the quack okays it.

Yeah, I've had the same thing here. This past July the gave me Septra to fight off an infection. But at night I got some crazy bizarre hallucinatory dreams. So I took half instead of a whole one and gradually increased it and no more side effects.

Hope it works out for you. The ladies are really impressed when you can really make noise that way in the bathroom.

Doesn't stop me. I've been known to open caps and take half of what's inside if I feel the full dose is too strong. I save the other half for the next dose. (Disclaimer => this is NOT intended as medical advice. Always consult with your doctor before adjusting the dosage of any medications).
