Looks like Denver is headed for a kickass first winter storm; NWS is predicting 6-10 inches of snow tonight and 4-8 tomorrow. Wet stuff and many of the trees here are still "changing color." Lots of tree damage predicted.

Summer's over, and I'll miss it.

Mostly, I could do it all from home. Have better equipment here and a faster pipe. I'd miss my work friends though. We bust ass for the most part, but there's nothing like throwing ball with the work dog in he morning. Seriously, that dog makes going to work worthwhile.

Work dog? Do you just have one? We have like 5 or 6.. every day, sometimes more. Its a riot -- everyone keeps treats in their desk, it's like doggy Halloween every day, they wander from desk to desk waiting patiently for their treat. I've found since moving to Denver that well behaved dogs are welcome in most work places. Unusual, but awesome. :)

Been over Monida with same car many times in snow and strong cross wind.

I don't know, I always did it myself. As a matter of fact, I don't recall ever even seeing someone offer to chain up a big rig.

There is something to be said for that and when it got really bad that's what I'd do. But when the storm had passed and weather was clear but the road still icy, well, I was paid by the mile so I wasn't making any money sitting in a truck stop.

Hm... I figured since it's good enough for the IRS, it'd be good enough for most Enterprise systems. But, I feel ya. There is something about open-source that scares executives away at my employer too.

We're actually a very open source shop. But they paid a fortune for our network infrastructure and it's also a lot easier to support (the non technical users). I use OpenVPN in all my personal projects, it's great.

I've been experimenting with TeamViewer remote access software these past few weeks.
VPN mode that is pretty tight and easy to setup, free for non-commercial use.

Pretty interesting compared to good 'ol VNC, which I still like.

Trying to get the remote Flex3000 thing worked out.
VOIP has a too much latency, so far. Hardly works.

But I CAN do digital modes the way it is setup now fairly well.
It's so cool to be able to see the Panadapter remotely.

Screen is damn small on the iPhone, but it works there too...

If i have a say in it, these temps can last till spring and go up from there, meaning my M&S tyres would have had no use in snow, but that's fine with me...:mrgreen:
