DX on 10 meters PSK is like shooting fish in a barrel. Worked Argentina, France, and some other call sign I didn't recognize off the top of my head...

Give it a whirl, 20 minutes ago, it was still wide open.

Wish I'd caught you earlier . Looks like 20 is hoppin' now . I'm lovin' the PSK. Gotta build better macros , though .

10 meters has been showing a lot more life over the past few months. Tune around during the day and you should hear at least a dozen stations between 28.300 - 28.500

Don't forget 12M. Last weekend, the band was absolutely jammed full of signals.

Need to get a PSK interface for my '940 and I'll join the fun.

PSK (and RTTY, for that matter) will have to wait for the new power supply for the shack PC. Should get here tomorrow.

You should be able to slap one together from your parts bin. Take about 20 minutes to make a nice, pretty looking one.

My club is starting a kit-building project, and one of the first kits is a rig to sound card interface for PSK etc. Interested?

I'd be interested in a simple interface project . It might be a good one for some of my classes . BTW , has anyone used USB sound cards for PSK ? Any hitches ?

I use a SignaLink USB, which is an external USB sound card. Works great for every digital mode I've tried except a few where PTT timing is critical, such as certain ALE modes.

Cool . I was thinking of a barebones starter kit , with a $7 usb sound card , 2 audio jumpers , and use the VOX for keying . Just something to get some folks around here started . Any suggestions ? Thoughts on whether isolation xfmrs are necessary ?

Probably no isolation transformers necessary if you use the external USB sound card, unless maybe you're trying to key a boat anchor.

I use a $20 Wal Mart special USB sound card (Turtle Beach). Works fine. You'll still do well with the isolation transformers, which are there to block DC, which is present in the USB connection (There's still direct connections).

I didn't realize this until I moved my shack to a room without a grounded outlet. I had DC hum on pretty much every band.

Y'all let me know anytime you want to try a sked . I can TX on 10 thru 40 , albeit with very limited antenna . I still need to work on my macros a bit , but I can manage a contact .

The default macros are pretty good, on their own. If you like, PM me the macros you'd like (Not technical, but just a list of what you need), and I'll send you the macro file back.

Thanx , I can get it , just need to refine what's here , as I get a feel for the mode .

Worked Argentina on 28.120 MHz this afternoon. His trace on the waterfall looked like it was coming from right next door.

I could get to like this 10m PSK31 thing.
