How many weather widgets do you run on your desktop panel(s) ? I run at least a dozen if not more. I even have a whole side panel devoted to weather applets. Just gotta know what;s going on in different spots on the globe, particularly in very hot and very cold places.

I get text message severe wx alerts (set by zip code, so it's pretty specific) on my phone from the local tv station. Nothing other than that.

Win 7 has a desktop "widget" that shows current temp. Seems to work.

I watch the NOAA stuff if I want to know what tomorrow might be like. Anything beyond that is a guess.

Yeah, I get that too. Both sent to my phone and to my regular email,

I'm on Linux/Kde Right now I am running a dozen applets giving me wx conditions around the USA, Africa, Alaska and the Yukon Territory. I love to monitor weather condx.
