View Full Version : The "What Are You Watching?" Thread
We need a thread that's the movie equivalent of the "What Are You Listening To?" thread, so I'm going to start it with this:
Drive.
Intense. Violent. Really fucking good.

More often than not I dont watch tv. What I do watch, clouds, stars, sunrise/set, rain, the glow of a fire, and the turning of pages as I read. That being said when I do watch tv it is with Pilar and we as of late have been watching Chopped, Hells Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares, Gorden Ramsay's F word, and Storage wars. Aside from that if we feel the need to watch something it is Discovery or History.
More often than not I dont watch tv.
I'm impressed, but re-read my post. The thread isn't about TV, it's about movies.

Just the web and PBS here.
a porn category might be a good place to exchange sites and see what each other likes best. :chin:

This was another one I enjoyed. Especially since there were only two actors in the whole movie.

So is Drive a remake of 1978's The Driver?

No, although there are some small similarities.

KJ6BSO, Thank you for the movie pointer. I thoroughly enjoyed Drive.
Next up is watching The Final Countdown. However, I am curious as to how well the remake of John Carpenter's The Thing turns out. And as far as what I am watching, I do have a soft spot for Sean Connery in Outland http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ehIG9shZs4A Maybe it's because Dad started me off watching real action heroes at a young age.
Vin Diesel and all these young punks wouldn't survive an old school ass whipping from the likes of Sean Connery and Michael Cain..... Do yourselves a favor and watch The Man Who Would Be King.
What other cinematic fare dost the humble denizens of The Island deem fit for viewing?? Be seeing you......

Just watched Tangled on the Samsung in 3D. Awesome. It's amazing when a butterfly goes right past your face. We've only seen a handful of 3D, and most are animated and done by Pixar. I wish there was more to chose from. Still waiting for Avatar 3D. Oh well, next up is Green Lantern 3D. Details to follow, film at ten.
Received my birthday present last night: tickets to see Moneyball. Really fine movie; even the XYL liked it and she's not a baseball fan at all. I used to write off Brad Pitt as a pretty boy but he's proven that assessment wrong a number of times now. I have to give him credit: the man's got some acting chops.

I really liked him in Meet Joe Black. Of course, Anthony Hopkins is no sloutch.

Just came for a rest and coffee, and the Langoliers is on. Cool movie. Can you imagine being Steven Kings kid and having him tell you bedtime stories? Jeebus

Right now, I am watching my COMPUTER MONITOR, mostly with TEXT on it. I don't get to watch much during the day, Especially if the boss is mulling around. He would have Kitens if he caught me watching even a U-Tube video! He wants HARD HARD work outta me. And he SURE gets it!
