I recall reading that the recommended adult dose was 10-20 drops. Of course that would depend on the individual and their level of tolerance. Apparently laudanum is still manufactured and prescribed but very rarely nowadays. It was too natural and too easily prepared. Nowaday's they are into synthetics and semi-synthetics mixed will all sorts of crap and marketed by large multi-billion dollar pharmeceutical companies.

In days gone by people used to prepare their own laudanum and "poppy tea" from poppies grown in their gardens. Nowadays f anyone tried that they would probably be attacked by drones and blasted into oblivion. Its great to be free. Besides, we can't have people messing with the legal and illegal drug industries.
