Hey y'all.

I was just about to head down to buy an HT from HRO. But I figured I'd see what you all might have in your closets that you might want to part with before I pay retail + sales tax. ;) My old Alinco DJ-V5 has just completely crapped out.

I don't have any brand preference, I'd like something 2m/70cm, but just single band 70cm or 2m would be fine for my needs. Something tri band with 220 would be really neat, I've never operated there.. but those are a rarity, I believe. Also, something with general VHF/UHF receive coverage is a plus.

Whatcha got? I'm buying. :P PM me or e-mail jeff ( at ) w4gpl.us.

Check out the line of Wouxuns on ebay, you can get a dual bander for less than $100. I've had mine for quite a while now and I'm quite happy with it.

Hmm, thanks for the tip, but never ever would I do that. Every single time I hear one of those on the air, I want to cut my ears off.

I've been saving for a new HF rig for about 5 or 6 years. Walked in to HRO last week to look at the TS 590s. It was at the top of my l$$ imit, and I had every intention of bringing one home but........I just couldn't turn loose of the $$. I haven't had a new rig since 1980s when I bought my TS530. Anyway, since I didn't buy the rig, they made me go out the back way. I'll go back, eventually.

Looking at the specs, and having the opportunity to play with one a couple of weeks ago, I was very impressed with the TS-590.......someday......
