We all did that. The question was, "Did you feel it?"

Just be glad we don't share our tornadoes with you. The United States has more tornadoes than any country in the world.

I remember a number of years ago a girl that lived across the street had her cousin from Ireland over. It was at a time when we were having a lot of strong thunderstorms back to back. She was remarking, "what kind of crazy weather you people have over here."

You build your stuff with the strongest storm in mind, at least i do.
In the last 25 years living here a gale force 12 ( 90 mile per hour wind) was seen once.
That is where i put the line in calculating the strength.

If we had tornado's ( we actually have but just level 1) i would calculate for that, or build a different system i could lower to the ground.
The level 1 tornado's here are called "wervelwind" or waterspouts over water.

We have used to have about 35 of them every year, this year we had a F2 tornado in my province doing some damage..
http://forum.onweer-online.nl/index.php?showtopic=27076

The last decades though through the warming up the number increased to 80 up to 135 a year.we actually became the "champion"in the number of tornado's in Europe...
Our history finds several F 4 tornado's with massive destruction and loss of lives.

Do you live below sea level Cor?

PA5COR

Actually 3 meters above ;)
Parts of the province are below the sealevel, but my city was founded around the year 100 with a few houses when the sea still had free access to our province and the only houses were build on natural raised ground, or farms build on man made hills.
Only in 1700 the full province had been enclosed in levee's preventing the sea from freely flowing in the province.

In 2010 Friesland was declared the most beautiful province in the Netherlands.
Quiet province, mostly agricultural, lots of farms cattle milk, cheese etc, and some industry.
We also have our own reckognised language, the Frisian.

"I never saw a purple cow.."

Always wondered about that Laughing Cow. Looks just a little more than "contented." Makes you wonder what she's been up to.

Love it. Or, maybe, used to love it....look at this:

Hope that doesn't wipe that smile off her face. It does mine!
