So much rain has fallen that New York City set a record for rainfall on Sunday.John F. Kennedy International Airport reported 7.72 inches Sunday night — the most ever recorded there in a single day. The driving rain broke the previous record of 6.3 inches, set in 1983, the National Weather Service said.
The highest total regionally was recorded at Lido Beach in Nassau County — 10.87 inches of rain by dusk.

It's amazing that the subways even ran on Sunday. Oddly enough, it wasn't the tunnels that were the problem for the most part, the elevated lines (especially by the Atlantic Ocean) fared worse.

Well, that's exactly what rudy and mike have been working so diligently to eliminate -- the Babylon aspects of Gotham. They've done a damn good job of it too. Most of Manhatten is as Babylon-like as your average suburban shopping mall.

No one sees the humor in that but me i guess. They do have a modern digital cinema with 2-3D IMAX screens. The last time I was there (last month) I witnessed some lady give a man money (I presume)in exchange for a small package that slipped easily into a pocket. The lady hopped into one of these .
