Only one day left in July. We're headed into the final stretch of summer already. It won't be long now till we notice the days getting noticeably shorter and till we start noticing nights are getting cooler and cooler. Pretty soon schools will be open, the trees will be bare of leaves, the air will have that cold nip in it. lakes and rivers will start to freeze, and the ground will be covered in snow.

Why do people reminisce about standing skeletons?

Pretty soon [...] the ground will be covered in snow.

Um...

Seriously, winter is by far the best time to be in San Diego.

Um...

Seriously, winter is by far the best time to be in San Diego.

Come and knock on our door.....
We've been waiting for you......
Where the kisses are hers and hers and his,
Three's company too.

Come and dance on on our floor......
Take a step that is new.....
We've a loveable space that needs your face,
Three's company too.

You'll see that life is a frolic and laughter is calling for you......
Down at our rendez-vous,
Three's company, too!!!!!!

JEBUS! Where do you live? Friggin' Russia?

ETA: You know, it's still 98 degrees here daily and every year it's the same thing, A/C doesn't work or is over taxed. Every Year! This year i can only imagine that it will be lack of funding. Talk of going back to an 180 day school year is popping up again since in the mid 80s they raised it to 230 days a year. More days in school yet the kids still were not learning enough to pass national standards.

Just like the right wing, when something doesn't work, GO FURTHER RIGHT!

not summer school. just the dumb asses in georgia being different than the rest of the country. they start school in early to mid august and get out in mid may. i guess they like running the AC at the school during the hottest part of the year.

For years here school has started between mid and end of 2nd week in August and the year ends first week of June. This year they extended the year to cover excessive snow days. NC also may start earlier to cover possible excess snow days. Imagine running school buses on twisty mountain roads, then in ice and snow. Still using 1950s designs when by now, a caterpillar type design that is 20 years old already would work safely.

Of course, now with the vocal minority in power, funding for anything school related with get the stamp of rejection. Afterall, if your kids are in public school, then that means your poor and are undeserving of a voice or rights.
