I found a good spot to collect very cold, fast flowing, right off the mountain, crystal clear crickwater. I'm gonna use it exclusively for my parsley I have growing in a planter.
The lawn sure doesn't like the chlorinated, semi-hard, city well water it gets in the dry season.

I heard real pickles are best made with crickwater.

http://maps.google.com/maps?q=Rathdrum,+ID&hl=en&ll=47.817809,-116.895304&spn=0.008688,0.029311&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=41.818029,86.572266&z=16

The place I get the water isn't shown on the map (as far as the creek being there).
The blue line at upper left that ends at reservoir road actually crosses under R road twice then parallels Oneida St. to the west, eventually crossing Oneida and joining the blue line at the odd sharp turn shown within the perimeters of Oneida, Bingham, & Boise sts.
It's kinda like my own private Idaho.

Nice find!

Be careful where you draw water from, however. Some areas are considered protected. So, make sure no Park Rangers around when you draw your gallon or so :)

Iffin I remember my survival training, a river or creek is the WORST water supply. Ya just never know who or what died or pooped in the river or creek up stream. Mmm refreshing decomp coonie water

For safety's sake , you should mix it with the product pictured here , I recommend about 50/50 , but other proportions can work.

My son, you'll burn in hell for diluting that stuff. Drop and give me twenty Hail Marys then fetch me a tumbler of Maker's Mark and all will be forgiven.

Um , in the circles I usually occupy , the only recognized Popes are those who have successfully completed the Cardinal Puff using Everclear in a 4 oz glass . And dogs and prospects are the only ones who respond to a "fetch" command . As to the Hail Mary's , this classic ditty comes to mind :

Do not drink your sainted crickwahtah, however. Beware eensy-teensy critters like girardia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giardia).
