I hope to work some of those guys this weekend. It'll be a little tough, as I'll be out cooking all day Saturday & Sunday.

We're currently sitting in the A/C.

Have through Sunday off; was going to go to the Vintage Motorcycle Days event. 'DSG recused herself from the trip early this morning, citing concerns of heat stroke. I don't blame her - we lost two of our usual 'shade' hangouts due to scheduling conflicts, and roasting in 100+ degree heat with nowhere to hide isn't my idea of fun.

We'll try for tomorrow.

Can't say I blame her either. But, I committed to the Vintage Grand Prix, so like a damned fool, off I go.

Flag Corner 18 will probably be busy too, since we're a major "pull-off" stop. When we've had heat waves in the past, we've had a lot of cars with mechanical problems caused by over-heating.

At least KB3HVN will be bringing his canopy, and I'll have PLENTY of cold water in the cooler. Some things you learn the hard way!

Coming home from work today on the Honda, I don't think I have ever been that hot. I sat a light thinking , Please god make it turn green before I pass out. :ugh:

Ever had a chance to travel through oven like hot air? 45 mph + 10 mph headwind but it's still hotter than Hades.

Yep. Used to live in California's Sacramento Valley, where the average July daytime temp was 90°F (32°C) and once hit 114° (45°C).

Every summer.
It's bad here on roads with wheat and other hay grass growing on both sides. Not quite as bad on roads with more lanes or wider spaces between the road and shoulder. We got a misting of rain yesterday around sunset and it just made everything steamy.

Wow, Duncan is really serious about the hobby. Great to see a young amateur stretch out his wings. He must really be into hamming big time because in Costa Rica, the chicks really ARE chicks.

That's no fun. Not without a Jeep and a syphoning hose... ;)
