I think we SHOULD be censored in China!

We should probably be censored in the United States. But, you know, it probably wouldn't be too hard to get censored in China. A few threads criticizing the Chinese government ought to do it.

The Chinese government leaders are bigger asswipes than ours are. How's dat?

A good start, but we need more.

I've heard that behind closed doors, unnatural things go on between Wen Jiabao and his favorite Chow-Chow.

Remember all this when China becomes the ONLY source for affordable amateur radio gear. I said affordable, not cheap. Wouxun is now considered mainstream and there are one or two HF rigs coming out of Beijing that are at second generation status in design and production.

Alinco has moved to China (could be old news here) and there are a couple of kits available with very poorly translated instructions. Chinese military radios are available on the web everyday and while there are still a few more hurdles to jump, they are shrinking these old designs and adding some modern features.

Japan will still make great rigs but the future of the manufacturing output of Japan is up in the air right now.

Someone will figure on translating manuals for those Chinese rigs and make a fortune doing so. All the same bullshit whining now being made about China was once said about Japan. Then about Korea. Take my auto out for a spin and you will see the future. Get used to the idea, 'cause you can't change it.

Yes sir, that is exactly correct. If you were to ask Orv, China was already better than us in quality 10 years ago.

Well... the Chinese do have some intelligence:
Faux Noize: Blocked
CNN: Accessible
Weather.com: Accessible
MSNBC: Accessible
eham.net: Accessible
salon.com: Accessible
arrl.org: Accessible

But... there are lapses:

QRZ: Accessible (FAIL!)
whitehouse.gov: Blocked
fcc.gov: Accessible
rushlimbaugh.com: Accessible (FAIL!)

Just wondering....when we become New China, will our radio prefixes change?

And if they do, does that mean we'll become rare DX?

They've taken a sudden interest in our site. The connection to hamisland has slowed down considerably. <br>I guess some of us got our wish!

IDK Ill be in Spain at that point.

As for the Chinese rigs...I had a few different HTs I got new from ebay..they worked pretty good but their design..BLEH! Menu setup was crap, programing also crap, getting a 1mhz offset on 2m required 2 mem chans (ofc some older Japanese rigs like that too), and very flimsy. All in all, worth the 50$ though.
