It's still fscking 96 degrees here and no sign of any storms.

ETA: OK, checked the radar. Front should move through here in about 1.5 to 2 hours.

It came through here a few hours ago. dark skies, high cold winds, hail, rain. And most of it passed to the north of me so I wasn't right under it. . I'd imagine it was a lot worst right under it. Still a lot of residual lightning and thunder all around.

Classic summer weather round here. I'm sure we'll be seeing plenty more of it before the fall/winter comes.

Friend of mine had a Mercedes 180 utterly bashed to ruin by softball sized hail in Italy back in the sixties. Don't wander out in it; that stuff can kill.

No hail. Just wind and rain. I miss all the fun....

On June 6th, 2007 a fellow ham/shooting buddy who lives in Akron had his F-350 Super Duty get beat right to hell as a result of grapefruit-sized hail which fell from a 60kft-tall SE-moving supercell. The storm eventually went tornadic one county further southeast; all told, it did around $100 million in damage to the area...mostly from hail.

The car dealers here have "hail damage" sales on an annual basis. The guys that do paintless dent repair can do a land office business with a spring like we've had.

About 9 last night. Sideways rain, and marble size hail. Lasted about 30 min.

Wednesday we had pretty strong storms, broke a couple of trees, power lines in the neighborhood.
Yesterday it was Charlotte NC that got the big storm. Super flash floods and broken trees.

I rode the Connie into work today. Three out of the last five have seen some pretty powerful storms roll through here and I've managed to dodge them both coming and going. Tied a cover onto the bike on Tuesday morning in anticipation of an a$$-whooper of a supercell that was moving off Lake Erie. Said cell managed to untie and remove the cover. Whole lotta bikes in the parking lot got a free bath that day and very few of the crew have ridden to work since.

Hah! You think that's tough? Hell, back in day, when I was a kid during the last ice age, we'd laugh at mere softball-sized hail. We had basketball-sized hail every day. Sometimes it would be as big as beach balls! Kids these days are soft, I'm tellin' ya. Now, get off my lawn!
