If it wasn't for Japanese efficiency, quality and innovation, we'd all still be driving '59 type Chevys with back killing bench seats, and NO overdrive.

You're mostly right, although my father's '49 Ford was equipped with overdrive.

Recent episode of Pawn Stars, Big Hoss got a Husqvarna cheap, and had a bobber made out of it.

Cost him $8500 plus the $150 or so for the bike. Über Coolness.

Tricky beeeotch to keep in tune, but it was faster than greased snot.

"Took my foot of the gas and man alive
I shoved her down into overdrive."

My Grandpa was a Rambler man, after Studebaker went away. I barely remember his last Hawk.
He liked the Rambler wagons, and grandma sewed matching curtains for the back windows.

Never bought them new, found really nice low mileage used cars... he was good at that.

They had a small Airstream trailer in tow for a lot of years.
Sweet setup. Every winter, Baja California.

First one looked like this... I guess it was a '59? But it was a darker brown.

Both great shows.

American Restoration is somewhat of a spin off of Pawn Stars. Pawn shop Rick has had Restoration Rick do a few projects for him
including the golf card for the "Old Man."

I like some of the things Rick has restored for himself to sell. The old time fire extinguisher was neat.

We had one of these in 4 door. 6 cyl, 3 on the tree. No overdrive.

I remember, I think the first job was an old gas pump.
