HRO's Summer 2011 catalog just arrived. I could spend a whole lot of money (if I had it)...

Just enjoy the catalogs like i do, and play with the tools you do have....
And enjoy the fun you work another station with your gear and someone with mega gear misses ;)

A man can dream though, can't he?

We don't need to hear about your personal habits, Cor... ;)

Seriously, I don't agonize over what I don't have but that doesn't mean I wouldn't like something a little better—antenna-wise in particular. I can build the antenna itself but a decent and safe 15m (50') tall support structure might be out of my league. I don't trust my welding skills well enough to tackle a project like that.

I always love getting those catalogs... Maybe it's because I hearken back to the days when the Radio Shack Catalog would come in, and I would grab it, and look through it constantly as a kid :)

Or you could do like I do.... cut out the picture of the IC-7800 and stick it on the fridge. I have yet to have one show up under the tree on Christmas, but who knows, this might be the year it happens! You never know!

Considering that an IC-7800 costs more than we paid for either one of our cars, I would not expect to see one under the tree any time in the near future.

I know someone that is limited to a magnetic loop of 11 feet for 160 - 40 meters and has a FT 9000.
I have the FT 847 2 x and FT 100 ( Collins filters all) and my OCF for 160 - 10, the Inverted L as described in the antenna section for 160 -20 with MFJ 998 tuner and another vertical for 17 - 10 meters.
Them beams for 6, 2, and 70 cm's and the X 510 N vertical.

I think i will work more as he does.....
Yes, the glossy brochures are nice, but the antenna's will make the difference.
I'm passed the stage i thought the transceiver was the main thing in the line ;)
Looking at my log on qrz or paper log i work the world on all bands on H.F. and 6.
That is what counts.
K, done, back to work in an hour...
