This one is a bit tougher. I got 15 of 17, but I had to guess on a couple.

After getting about a third of the way through without a single right answer, I bailed.

Got 1 wrong. #3, the early ford looked like a sb chevy. The valve cover bolts should have ruled out SB chevy now that I look back on it. I had no idea what it was. Now if it had the stock cast iron ex manifolds on it I would have figured it out.

4 wrong on quiz #2.Yep, the old Y block, the first overhead valve V-8 offered by ford . I think it came in 3 flavors. 272, 292, and 312.

Whipped the livin piss out of few 292's in the day. The 312 was an oil pumpin blowby piece of shit though.

The biggest problem with the y-blocks was getting oil to the top end. The passages were tiny, and when they clogged up the rockers would clatter like mad. Several companies sold top oiler kits to solve the problem.

15 of 17 here as well.
The Y block also had a really strange method to time the cam. No aligning the gear marks with each other. Put both at 3 oclock, and count the number of pins in the chain between them. The exhaust pipe running around the front of the engine was weird, too.

I got 4 out of 17. If you figure it based on the laws of probability that's about the number of right answers random guessing will give.

I used to enhance the model engines in the AMT kits. Thread for spark plug wires, 3/32" dia plastic flexible tube for radiator hose, etc. The detail of the plastic model parts was quite accurate.
