iHAB 4 Launch - 30 Apr 2011 - 1500Z

iHAB 4 (High Altitude Balloon) is getting launched this weekend, at 1500Z. On board will be a parrot repeater, APRS beacon, and a 20M beacon.

These can be interesting . Met the chase crew for a local one of these recently , then listened to them on 2m , and watched on the APRS/fi website as their balloon burst and descended , travelling directly over NAS Meridian at 30,000 feet during an air show . There was a NOTAM posted , and Navy was tracking it , but they appreciated the knowledge conveyed by hams on the ground there .
