That's an interesting point. He would have to maintain a good standard of evidence? What about varying conditions, people who can't hear others due to local noise and inexperienced users who are just learning? He seems to find mocking other peoples mistakes and license level/status quite satisfying. You just can't do this and maintain credibility.

Apparently the radio receiver on the notice was a Icom 756 Pro III. The first 756 Pro suffered from overloading problems, but the later models did not. http://www.ab4oj.com/icom/pro_notes.html
Also, the actual signal level in uV will not correspond to what is indicated on the meter. I would put a bet on the signal level being much lower than an official S9+30dB.

I have actually met K9DXR. He and I were talking and he was talking about his FT-1000D transceiver. At that time, I told him that I had only an FT-840. He lit up and said he had one of those as well and he loved it, but he didn't seem to know much about it.
