This photo was taken by a lady friend who is a ham.
The eastbound trains often stop here to let exhaust gases vent from the 7.7 mile long tunnel just ahead.
The ventilation system is enormous.

I'm allergic, too. Not to pollen but to Apples. (That IS an apple in the upper left?)

Ahhhh..... Ahhhhh....... Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh.. Chooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

That's my back yard, so I've been snuffling and blowing my nose for the last week until things finally dried out enough from the last rain to allow me to mow. But if it makes you feel any better, those yellow things are dandelions, not goldenrod.

I gotta admit that I'm coming around. Got a MacBook at the "job" and it is sweet. Takes a bit of getting used to, but not a bad machine, just different.

Macs are excellent machines. We have three of them in operation here, two Macbooks and one older iBook (that runs some software that must use OS9.x and is now irreplaceable). PCs tend to be better values, however, in terms of bang for the buck. I have an ASUS laptop that will run rings around the newest of our Intel Macs and it cost less than half the price of the Mac. There is no real difference anymore between the software that we use (PS, InDesign, Quark, etc) on either platform; it is now only what you are used to in terms of operating style and technique.

Apple is worse than MS in terms of coming out with a new OS that screws all the folks who are using older operating systems; as the market software updates, the Apple folks get left behind much faster than do Windows users, although the MS technology is shifting in that direction as well.

What's not to like about a computer running a fully POSIX-compliant Unix with a very slick GUI (with the option to go to a CLI when desired)? I can't even remember the last time I had to reboot this laptop because of a system error. Applications sometimes crash but they don't take the OS down with them.
