Had a great day bopping up the Southington for the hamfest today. Started out with a great drive up -- had a rag chew for over an hour with a guy up in NW VT. He used to live in NY, and we had a great conversation. Rag chews like that don't happen that often these days, so I relished the drive up to the hamfest. It was a very good shake-down for the TR-7 I got last fall & it was superb!!!!!
Then, as soon as I paid, walked into the fester & met up with Paul, I won a raffle. $25 gift certificate for ARRL pubs. But drat....I couldn't use it to renew my membership. (Hey, ARRL, membership = QST...and isn't THAT a publication?) But that wasn't the worst part. The people at their table put on the hard sell to contact my congress jerks about our freqs I tried to tell them that I'm completely apolitical...but they didn't stop til I walked away. Well...glad the ARRL is MORE than those two!
