The senators estimated that hoarding of pennies amounted to 600 coins per person across the country

People don't hoard pennies. They're too god damned lazy to spend them, so they end up in the bucket/jug next to the dresser.

Are we any different than the Canadians?

In short, yes we are.

We don't say, "Eh?" a lot and we have no frickin' clue what back bacon is.

Similarities? Sure, I'll give you that, we share a very similar language, like beer and Kraft Macaroni & Cheese, so, yeah, I will concede to similar...... well, except for those creepy French Canadians anyway.

I used to live across the alley from Eleanor Bacon, Kevin's sister; she looked just like him.

Nah. When feeling lonely, I'd hit it.

As far as pennies go...when I have enough, I roll and sell them.

I used to do the same. Then my credit union got one of those super-duper coin counters - empty the coffee can out on the conveyor belt, it counts the change, and gives you a slip to give to the teller for cash or deposit to my account.

Although, counting out the loot was kind of fun... and you could blow the cash on ice cream on the way home from the bank.

Good to see that racism is alive and well here!

So, what's so "creepy" about French Canadians? The people of French descent that I know have every reason to say "creepy US people", but they've got far too much intelligence and wisdom to stoop to such low stuff.

Yes, different and not in a good way.

...and we have to keep the penny around until the notion of trickle down economics goes away completely.

Wonder how many are melting them down. Seems the copper's worth close to three times what a penny is worth...

I probably should have posted this in the "Bucket List" thread but
here goes
Before I die I would have liked to take a trip to "Mother England".

I know I am an A.H. BUT
does that desire make me a "Creepy" A.H.?

Inside jokes that I'm not privy to aside, this is a public forum. Guess "decorum" means nothing to some.
