If I stand on my back step and shout you should just about be able to hear me. Not sure what the plan is this year. In years past myself and two of my friends find a freq and take turns working whoever comes by thus giving them Trempealeau, La Crosse, and Brown Co's in one stop.

I was listening to ya on 7.160 earlier, but there was a
HUGE "noise bubble" right on top of you. I could pick out a word
here and there, but nothing solid.

Plus,
Today was one of those days that I just didn't feel
like playing radio. I made a whopping 15 Q's and quit.
Maybe next year ???

Noise on 40M was terrible this year. I was a bit more than 50 Q's lighter than last year. We did the same thing this year, with 4 counties on one freq. Washington, Trempealeau, Brown and La Crosse. One of the QSO party officials worked us and he was very confused and wanted to make sure we weren't breaking any rules. Tough to break the rules when I have no intention of submitting a log. I'm just in it to get the County on the air and have a little fun with my friends. You know how it goes though, ham radio = serious business!

Not a very good turn out. Not even close to last year. Don't know why or where everyone was.

Possible. I think I worked everyone in Dane Co.

Not to get off subject too much but I will more than likely participate in the Zero-land QSO party coming up with a few other fellow ham operators at a friends QTH. He (WBØYLA) will have his camper set up on his property for the upcoming event.

There's an analogy about alligators, arses and swamps which fits my situation lately. I've had the radios on quite a bit but only as background filler. Working in and around the shack on projects tends to keep one off the air.

This weekend I hope to raise the eastern end of my G5RV by another 20ft and I have no idea how much effort that's going to entail - even with one of those neato tennis-ball-launching slingshots for use as a leader-line thrower.

Results are in...I didn't win again this year. http://www.warac.org/wqp/2011/11results.pdf

I got a mention in the soapbox though!

Wow, what a fun way to spend a Sunday. Mobiles were out in full force and identified often. The
mobile CW ops were insane. Nice to work K9TY a few times on 40 SSB. Unique were the trio of
W9IKU, KC9ECI and KB9FTI, handing us out-of-staters off to each of themselves on the same freq --
three for the price of one!
