Stuck in Kokomo Indiana tonight.

Thought we would go to a Japanese restaurant. The place I found on my GPS was called Kyoto. My Japanese coworker had second thoughts and we ended up going to Ruby Tuesday's for dinner. Decided not to die tonight. Kyoto looked like ptomaine poisoning warmed over.

Ever been to Woody's in Elvis Illinois? Best buffalo burger ever!

Why the second thoughts? Did the place look like a rathole?

When I'm in an unfamiliar place wondering what to eat, I'll almost opt for a sushi place. Never had any problem with that anywhere. Sure, some sushi looks and tastes better than others, but "less tasty" doesn't mean "harmful."

Heh, reminds me of this place (http://maps.google.com/maps/place?cid=4937802438694958044&q=Chinese+Restaurant+near+Union+Road,+Cheektowaga, +NY&gl=us&hl=en&dtab=0&sll=42.905118,-78.754197&sspn=0.056039,0.006295&ie=UTF8&ll=42.94612,-78.838749&spn=0,0&z=13).

A few years ago when they opened, one of the stations I worked for did a remote there. Everyone thought this place was the shit and were talking about it. We decided to try it. Upon pulling into the parking lot, I noticed a rat scurry along the wall near the rear of the building and go into a basement window. So we sat there and watched to see if it would appear again. I'm absolutely certain that restaurant had way more rat patrons than human. We went somewhere else to eat.

There are places in GB that specialize in rat thighs.

Not a whole lot of difference between a rat and a squirrel. Headed, skinned and tailed, it's damned hard to tell one from the other.

As my brother-in-law and I used to say when we set off to hunt squirrel: 'time to bag us some fuzzy-tailed rats.' If rats taste as good in a stew as squirrel does, I might start raising them for food.

Well, it didn't look like they were going to serve beaver in there. The windows were greasy looking. There was no one there at 8 PM. The person working there was just standing there inside waiting for someone to come in. I could hardly make out what he looked like because the windows were so horrible. I wanted to go. My Japanese coworker wanted to go elsewhere. He did not spend any time worrying about missing sushi that night.

Ruby Tuesdays was great.

Personally I can't stand sushi. If I am going to have seafood I prefer it cooked. Otherwise I like prefer to go for Indian, Pakistani or Afghani restaurants. Or Chinese, Mexican, Italian, American, French, German , Russian, or Jewish cuisine. Sushi just don't cut it for me.

That was the way I used to be. But skillsets for certain jobs require certain abilities. This happens to be one of mine.

Raw salmon is even better but for a real treat, you have to get up at the eggs.

Raw tuna is very palatable. I am not so fond of salmon. But really, with wasabi, it all pretty much tastes the same.
