I think I've asked this before here but since I haven't been here in awhile I'll ask again. Anyone on Echolink? I have a low power cross-band link that I use (and yes, I know some don't like Echolink, not why I was asking) and I'm always looking for new nodes to connect to, etc.

My node # is 149581, KB9YCO-L, stop by some time and say hello. Usually I am connected to various conference servers, if you see me on give me a call or connect to whoever I'm connected to and we can go link to link (I generally don't use Echolink for computer to computer because my end goal is RF somewhere, but it would be nice to talk to some people from here).

I log in on my droid from time to time. I'll log in now if you want to try it. I've wanted to see how well it works on the Droid.

Absolutely, give it a try, I'm not connected to anyone right now.

I played with it for about 6 months, got bored, and re-tasked the PC it was on to do something else.

Looks like you'll have to connect to me, your node said "unavailable" and I'm not sure how that works with the app version of Echolink. All the iPhones and Droids I've heard thus far sound really good though.

I understand, I initially downloaded it to use as a link back to my own system when I lived in a house and had a decent tower, not I just use it to 'borrow' some of the local repeater nodes that I used to talk on, or I connect it to conference servers with multiple repeaters, etc. To each their own, for me it's just another way to link, nothing more.

Tried to connect and it says you're in conference already and it timed out. :(

Weird, I'm not connected to anyone right now, maybe there was just a little lag time with Echolink updating, not sure, but I'm open right now.

Well, we connected, I called and then we disconnected.

If you were on a regular node I could probably figure it out, but I have no clue how it works with apps.

Well, we connected, I called and then we disconnected.

It keeps saying 'no route available' so I have no idea what that means. I didn't hear anyone call so I don't know.

Echolink on my Droid is awesome. Press the camera button to talk. It's like talking on an HT.

Heh, I'm not single either. In between talking to you I've been texting my hubby.

Well that was pretty awesome. Great QSO with Brett KB9YCO on Echolink. The battery on my Droid finally bit it and we had to sign, but I'm pretty impressed. It's the first time I actually used Echolink for a QSO.

Brett,

Is your node configured to only allow one inbound connection? I tried hopping in there during lunch, but was refused as "Busy".

I generally leave it that way just because of bandwidth limitations. Believe it or not a lot of the time that I'm using Echolink I use it on a dial-up connection, and believe it or not it actually works really well. Anyway, if we ever wanted to have a group conversation that are tons of conference servers that are often idle and unused. Check in anytime, sorry it didn't work. I'm usually connected to a conference or a repeater so if you connect there we can chat or go elsewhere!

It was fun, let do it again sometimes (and I'm sure the bird will chime in!)
