The difference between white whole-wheat bread and regular whole-wheat bread is in the type of wheat used. White whole-wheat bread is made with white wheat, which lacks bran color. It also has a milder flavor and softer texture. In contrast, regular whole-wheat bread is made with red wheat, which is darker in color. It has a slightly bitter taste and a coarser texture. So even though both types of bread are made with whole grains, they have a different color, taste and texture. Other products besides bread, such as crackers and baking mixes, may also be made with white whole wheat.
I like flavor in my bread. White bread is so tasteless.

Who da cluck ever heard of white whole wheat flour? White bread and other baked products in this country are made of bleached white flour that has had the bran, and the germ removed.

I try to buy whole grain white when I can find it in the store.
There is a bakery called Big Sky Bread Co. that makes a sour kraut-dill bread that is killer grilled.
Of course it all depends on what ya plan to make as to what type of bread I want to use.
Bargain Bread sux for grilled cheese sammiches :)

Sometimes I get lazy and just let the bread machine do all the work, but then there are those pesky holes in the bottom of the loaf.

Couldn't be easier. Packet of yeast, a little sugar, salt, oil, cup of warm water, 3 cups of flour and 1 cup of oatmeal. Now and then I'll get fancy and make a pepper loaf, or add some cheese and onion. Sure beats that Wonderbread crap.

I made a cutting board similar to that in HS. Maple & Mahogany. My ex is still using it in Florida.

One thing that can't be beat is having a breadmaker that you set to finish in the morning and you wake up to the smell of fresh bread. truly heaven.

Hello.
I still have my Auto-Butler, a device that all but makes breakfast for you, with normal appliances.
It is a real fancy sequential timer.
You plug in your toaster, percolator, frying pan(s) and whatever else is needed for your breakfast.
At the preset time the clock trips a bunch of thermal timers and cooks everything.
The idea was that you plugged in a thermal timer for however long the stuff was to cook.
The guy who had it could no longer find the octal based thermal timers and the mechanical clock was not reliable.
I tossed the thermal timers and mechanical clock.
Now there are 2 electronic clocks and 6 electronic timers, all electronic surplus.
2 toasters are loaded the night before and the coffee pot is set.
A mechanical timer microwave contains everything else.
It trips in sequence and I have my coffee and toast ready with the oatmeal.
About the time I am done with the first of the toast the second set pops up.
After 6 sequences I am reminded to buy more food and every morning until I reset it.
What can I say, I like automation? lazy? a combo of both?

I made a cutting board similar to that in HS. Maple & Mahogany. My ex is still using it in Florida.
Maple and walnut. I knock them out at work on my 10 minute break. If I start on Monday I'll have a board ready to bring home and oil on Friday. They make nice wedding presents. I wish I'd have napped a shot of the last one I did, Same maple and walnut, but I ran some 1/4 inch cherry accent strips around the walnut.

I like a hearty whole wheat bread. I use graham flour. Mix it with some hard (winter) wheat flour to assure you have sufficient gluten. Don't use sugar; use molasses (not syrup) and add some cracked wheat berries and some rolled oats.
Yep.. Make yer own. You know whats in it, And most important whats not !

Wonder Bread! "Builds Strong Bodies 8 Ways!" And it's got red, yellow, and green balloons on the package. What more could anyone want from bread? Oh, yea, to be pre-sliced. Two perfect machine cut slices of that with Peter Pan Peanut Butter and Welch's Grape Jelly is a meal fit for a king! Especially with Twinkies for desert!

When I was a kid, we got Wonder Bread as the "standard".
I discovered you could munch off the crust and roll the rest of it up into a small ball, these became SuperHero Power Pills.
Suitable for carrying in your flannel shirt pocket, lint fuzz easily peeled off. :stupid:
While making a triple deck Oscar Mayer Bologna, Kraft Cheddar, Hellman's Mayonnaise and Kraft Mustard Sammich one day, I substituted nice Marble Rye Real Deli slices for the Wonder Bread. I'd swiped and previously defrosted one of the family freezer "good bread loaves"in my closet. Just butter, not toasted was a very good midnight snack.

I like flavor in my bread. White bread is so tasteless.
Which is why I always find something to stick in it. Like a Hamburger with relish, mayo and Ketchup (or is that Catsup?). Then there's Ham and Swiss with Mayo. A Frankfurter with Sauerkraut and Deli style mustard. Philly Cheesesteak and some onions. Hungry yet?

Hello.
I was told this in Saudi Arabia by some American kid and told him how gross this sounded.
The next day in class this kid told the teacher and the teacher tried to explain that some kids did things as challenge, hazing was an accepted part of life.
To do something of an extreme was proof.
She did not like the idea of my snot in her Pepsi. ;)
Before I could be expelled I was already in the Madressa, or Islamic school.
Kids would run around with capes and act as super hero action figures at the foreign schools.
I would walk around with the AKM and dagger and think they were all nuts.
The Arab flat bread is very much like the tortilla.
What goes inside the flat bread is very much like what goes inside a taco.
Arabs, daggers and swords.
Mexicans, bowie knife and machete.
The cultures are very much the same, right down to the very hot summers.
So it is understandable that a lot of the food is very much alike.
Except Mexicans like pork in just about everything!

Some of those holes underneath were my doing, not the kneading arms. I got hungry and while you weren't looking I took a few bites from it.
You can't beat something as simple and tasty as tuna salad on pumpernickel rye.
All of my other sandwiches go on Sara Lee Honey Wheat, which is usually on sale at Hy-Vee. It stays soft forever, and it takes a LONG time to start growing mold, so I'm afraid to find out what preservatives they put in that bread...

Formaldehyde. It's okay--that's what they use to preserve corpses too, so you won't have to worry about rotting for a l-o-n-g time.
Well, as hard as it may be to believe, especially by those that know me, like Charles, just for example....... My 'bread' has been this gem for quite some time now. I use it for everything from toast to hamburger buns.
