Hope that's not what your power meter looks like when you're on SSB! With a meter moving like that you're either using WAY too much compression (and sounding crappy), or runnning your ALC into the nether-world (again sounding crappy.)! :-P:stickpoke:

Either that, or you've got the perfect voice characteristics for modulating a transmitter!

The other night I was making a contact with an Islander. As conditions were fading, the mic went into battle mode and the processor was cranked up. Still 100w but now it was pulling all the knobs. I may be rebuilding a CB power mic with electret condenser element just as an experiment but when you have a GM-5, why would you want to use anything else.

Reminds me of how to make a PD happy with audio processing on any given FM station: Glue the mod monitor needle so it always reads 105%
