Now compare with an AA/TF at full song.
A top fuel dragster accelerates from a standstill to 100 mph (160 km/h) in as little as 0.7 seconds (less than one fifth the time required by a production Porsche 911 Turbo (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porsche_911_Turbo) to reach 60 mph) and can exceed 280 mph (450 km/h) in just 660 feet (0.2 km). This acceleration subjects the driver to a maximum force of about 5.7 G (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G-forces).
To put these speeds in perspective, if you were traveling at 200 mph and crossed the start line at the same time as a Top Fuel car got the green light, you would still wind up losing the race at the end of the quarter mile.[1] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Top_Fuel#cite_note-0)

When I was racing I hated those things, and funny cars. They always seemed to blow up when I was sitting in the staging lanes waiting to make my run. Cleanup usually took 15 minutes.

Not anymore. Last time I was at the track, an oil down was at least a 45 minute affair.

And they didn't even have to be running when they blew up sometimes. That old witches brew those top fuelers used to run would self ignite in the tank on a real hot day. All the good ingredients got banned quickly.
